1990. SOFTISAN® 649 is a non-animal derived semisolid lanolin substitute with high water-binding capacity and good adhesion to the skin. The product is  SOFTISAN 645.

SOFTISAN® 649 is a partial ester of diglycerin with medium chain fatty acids, isostearic acid, stearic acid, 12-hydroxystearic acid and adipic acid. The product does not contain any additives such as antioxidants, preservatives or others. SOFTISAN® 649 is a yellowish, pasty, tacky, very stringy substance.

Its color is significantly lighter and the smell is almost neutral. It exhibits a comparable water binding capacity and has a drop melting range bet- ween 32°C and 37°C.
